I heard that there was a deadline to send 45 day letter before end of June this year. And I have seen 45 day letters coming to my friends and me.
Question is: Is there any deadline for them to complete processing all cases???
Another concern. When they are done processing all 350K cases, think of retrogression!
DOL claims on their website all shall be done by Sept 2007.

If H4 uses EAD for work with 485 pending, and if the underlying I-140 gets rejected, will this make H4 holder be out of status? what are the options for H4 holder.

Hello everyone, My husband whose PD is Oct 2006 EB2 got his email today...
On March 24, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
I have two questions...
1) How is it possible to get GC out of turn.........?
2) We moved to a new house n updated the address, but for some reason it was not correct. The system(also the customer service) wont let me update till 45 days have passed. Now the document will come to the wrong address? What do i do?

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

I am trying to get an infopass to check my I-485 status
1. After selecting "you need information or other services" in the infopass process, The infopass is not showing me any appointment dates, instead it is showing "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."
I have done infopass before 6 months ago, and it showed me the date to select but now it is now doing that. just the message "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later."
Does anyone faced the same issue and help me to get an infopass!

Hi,
I am currently on H3 visa. My 2-yr term is coming to an end. My company had initially told me that they would find me a job internally and then relocate me to another location outside of the US after my training ends.
However, the company has not been able to find me anything in other regions, which essentially means I will be laid off. I want to know if the company is liable to pay me severance / air tickets back to my home country??
My employer is currently saying that they are not responsible for my airfare. That provision is only for H1B's. However, if the intent of H3 visa was to bring me for training and transfer me so that I could use that knowledge somewhere else. Even in the H-3 filing papers my company stated that their intent was to provide me employment in other regions after the end of the training. I don't understand how can they leave me stranded. They should be liable for something (severance, airfare)??
Please reply if you have any advice.

My I-140 was approved from Nebraska service center, but my attorney sent my I-485 case to Texas. I came across few people here on IV who have experienced the same.
Did USCIS provide any information regarding this? If so could you provide the link?

i was in same situation. my wife's AP was approved and mine not, before leaving US, so i went for h1 stamping but, my wife didnt. on return, i entered on H1 and she entered on AP.
SFO port. they asked her to go to secondary inspection room, had to wait for 1/2 hr. they called her name, no questions asked, gave her docs back. we both were in.
this was back in Feb'09. i work directly for F100, popular company.

I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.
Dont worry, showing EAD to SSA office will not cancel or invalid your H1B. Goto SSA office and tell them you have both H1B as well as EAD.

My parents are planning to apply for visitor visa. My aunt (dad's sister) has applied a immigrant petition for him about 4 years back and it is still in process. If my dad applies for a visitor visa which is non-immigrant intent, will he face any issues with issuance of visitor visa ?

One of my friend got their Fingerprinting letter and the last name is misspelled. What should they do go ahead and take it to the FP office or call USCIS and get it corrected.

Please report your employer to DOL for discriminatory pay practice, if you think the pay difference is solely 'cause of your immigration status.
And yes, you can change your job when you want through AC 21.. please browse the forum for AC21 process...good luck!

Your SSN is used mainly for employment and taxation purposes. You can go to India and come back without any issue ... the SSN will wait for you in your mailbox... :)
