I was listening to BBC News last night and heard an interview with a scientist described as one of the world's leading experts on climate change. That scientist is Indian-born Ram Ramanathan, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric and Climate Sciences at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California in San Diego. He recently won the Tyler Prize which is awarded to the top environmental scientist in the world. UCSD describes Ramanathan: One of the world's leading atmospheric scientists, Ramanathan was the first to show that ozone-depleting aerosols could aggravate the greenhouse effect. In 1980, he correctly predicted that...

The Wall Street Journal reports that DHS will "intensify" its enforcement efforts against employers around the US: John Morton, the new chief of U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, a unit of the Department of Homeland Security, said that the agency is set to increase the number of companies it will audit and systematically impose fines on violators. Violations could also lead to criminal charges, he said. *** "You are going to see audits regularly and on a larger scale," Mr. Morton said during a two-day visit to southern California, his first since being appointed four months ago. "You will see...

So I'm in need of an answer for my parents.

They have their green card and have been out of the United States for a little less than 6 months now visiting their homeland. They will be returning in a week but due to a medical circumstance that has happened with my mother overseas, she would need to go back to their homeland so she can acquire her medications and chemotherapy there. What is the minimum amount of time they would have to stay here in the United States until they can go back to their homeland?

I know you can stay out of U.S. for no more than 6 months or their green cards make be revoked, I understand that part but I'm curious if there is a minimum amount of time they'd have to stay here in the Unites States before they can go back overseas so it doesn't look bad when they go through immigration.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

My first NIW/I140 was concurrent filed with I485 for both my wife and me. When they denied I140, the USCIS also denied I485s for both of us. I have a pending MTR for that I140.

I then filed another NIW/I140, which was approved. Surprisingly, and I just noticed that, the approval notice has the A# that was on the I485 of the first petition.

So, should I assume that my the USCIS has interfiled my I485 automatically and my old PD is active?

If yes, 1) Is there a way to confirm this, and 2) do I still have to file MTR for the my I485 that was denied, and 3) Since it has been 6 months since the PD, am I eligible for EAD under AC21?

Also, what will happen with my wifes I485? Since the original I485 was denied, will interfiling be okay or should we MTR it?

    Thanks for all your help.

    Hey Kiwi,
You cannot create keyframes in Swift 3D. You can arrange or move around keyframes, and that is only by adjusting the animation path. I'll try to check and see if there is some hidden way of inserting keyframes in Swift.

Try taking the main battery AND the "clock" battery out. Leave them out for at least 15 minutes [longer is fine]. Then re-insert clock battery and then main battery.

Check that there's no buttons being stuck in.

As of April 6, 2009, all applicants for non-immigrant visas at the U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, must now enroll at the Applicant Service Center (ASC) fingerprint appointment before attending the interview appointment. ASC employees take applicants’ pictures and fingerprints and provide that data to the consulate. Non-immigrant visas are issued to foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States on a temporary basis. More information is available at:

I have applied for my PERM Labor Certification on Aug, 6th'07. My status online shows "IN PROCESS". DOL called my employer's contact to verify submission on Aug, 15th'07.
My Lawyer states that rather than preparing for I-140 / I-485. I would be best served in working on preparing a response to the audit that will be coming, because of the Spanish language requirement.
Is he just getting ready for a "just-in-case" audit...? Should I prepare the I-140 and deal with the audit on the 30-days if DOL sends the Audit letter? How long would it take to receive this letter?

    Enjoying the ride....

I plan to tweet during my 3 days at DC during Advocacy Days, so I figured it will be easy if we have a hashtag for twitter.

    I was thinking #IV11

Anyone else planning to tweet during the event (between meetings)?

one of my friend worked here on L1 for couple of years for employer A.

then he got a H1 approved effective from Oct'07, with employer B.

but, he did not actually start working under employer B on H1 (payroll) until Mar'08.

he continued working under employer A on L1 ( has paystubs without any break) until Mar'08 and then worked with employer B on H1.

now he did a cap-exmpt H1 transfer to employer C, got H1 apporved and they are filing for GC labor PERM petition.

question is, while providing his previous employers info in the PERM petition,
can he say that he worked with employer A on L1 until Mar'08, even though his H1 with employer B is effective from oct'07?

    appreciate any advice

I will be filing my EAD renewal end of this month at NSC.
Is e-filing faster than paper filing? Any suggestions?
Also, my PD will become current from August.

No. This requires fingerprinting. Based on varios posts, it seems to be taking approximately 3 weeks more.
