The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution mandates an inclusive mathematical formula for apportioning "Representatives . . . among the Several states". It requires a decennial census count of "the whole number of persons in each State" excluding untaxed Native Americans. On March 19, 2010, the USCIS announced revised filing instructions and addresses for applicants filing an I-131, the Application for Travel Document.
Beginning March 19, 2010 applicants will have to file their applications at the USCIS Vermont Service Center or at one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities.
If you file the I-131 at the wrong location, the USCIS Service Centers will forward it to the USCIS Lockbox facilities for 30 days, until Monday, April 19, 2010. After April 19, 2010, incorrectly filed applications will be returned to the applicant, with a note to send the application to the correct location.

No, you don't need the I-864. The interview letter that you got might refer to an I-864, but this is often because the local district office has standard interview letters and they are more often for family cases than employment cases. I've seen this happen often.

Online petitions are useless...petitions need signatures and names that can be verified with sufficient contact information. Otherwise, what stops some unscrupulous person from piling up a billion "signatures" in support of the petition?

Is the renewal form I-131? Isn't it same as applying for FRESH AP??
No where on the form we indicate that this is a RENEWAL??
Who ever has e-filed AP renewal please help...

Guru's please help....
My attorney sent in EAD renewal applications for me and my spouse. We got a receipt from USCIS yesterday with a MSC receipt number with some information on scheduling biometrics. I called my attorney and asked him about the same. He said that this is normal as he did the right thing by sending our application to a lock box address in Chicago. We are wisconsin residents. Please advise if this is fine to get a recipet notice from the Missouri service center address.

What are the options when labor is being audited?

Need your input in a scenario of a friend of mine. My friend's wife is on H1 for the past 4 months and wants to transfer to an H4 visa under her husband. The wife's employer has not paid her any salary nor has he got her any project for the past 4-5 months, hence they are forced to make this decision. The h1 my friend's wife is only H1 approval papers and it is not stamped on her passport. The wife's employer is not willing to give her any papers of release or letter of leave without pay from her employment.
She needs to desperatly change her status to H4.....Suggestions needed??
Question=> Can my friend's wife go to India and apply for a H4 visa directly from the US Consulate in India? Without any papers related to the H1 visa??

Hi,
I'm working on H1-B visa since last 6 months.
My wife is joining me on H4 visa and her H4 is approved till July'2010.
I have switched my Employer in the first month as I arrived USA and my New Employer filed my H1-B Transfer petion as regular, but still my case is in pending. But my wife's ticket is confirmed on 7th of October and she is coming to US on OCT 7th.
Two day's back my employer changed my case from Regular to Premium.
My question is that what will happen to my wife case..?? Does she need to re-apply for her H4 visa once my H1-B gets approve..?? Can she come to US with her previous stamp..??

The Administrative Appeals Office (AAO) Processing Times were released with processing dates as of July 1, 2010.
If you filed an appeal, please review the links below to determine the applicable processing time associated with your particular case.

The current processing time for an I-129 H-1B Appeal is 12 months. The current processing time for an I-140 EB2 Appeal for an Advanced Degree Professional is 24 months; for an I-140EB3 Appeal for a Skilled or Professional Worker is 25 months.
Most other cases are within USCIS's processing time goal of 6 months or less.
