I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.

What I have seen is that IV is spending 80% of its energy to change the current immigration law (increase the EB visa numbers in some fashion etc.). As far as I can see, this is not going any where due to a variety of reasons.
Is it time to rethink our priorities? If we put more of our collective energy to force USCIS to do a better job, will we get better results? Sure, the immigration law needs fixing. But our predicament is not due to immigration law. Our predicament is that the USCIS is not doing a good job. They are only working 4 hours a day. (I saw a post from a person who went and looked around the USCIS parking lot on a Friday :D. He/She says the parking lot was empty in the afternoon.).
I suggest that the IV core spend 80% of energy in fixing the USCIS bottleneck. We should have another rally infront of the USCIS doorsteps (or a flower campaign or a card campaign or a degree copy sending campaign). 20% of the energy can still be spent on fixing immigration law.
I do not think that USCIS bottleneck alone could cause such a huge retrogression. I do agree that USCIS should increase their efficiency and should not waste visa every year. Though it is definite that using all the visas allocated efficiently will help, this alone do not reduce retrogression to a greater extent.
IV is looking in the right direction in the long term. I am of the opinion that, we as affected by the USCIS, can take it up to make them accountable for the loss.

Something just popped up from my family.
I filed concurrent 140-485-765-131 in Nebraska.
DHL delivered the package on 1st of february.
My checks were not yet cashed and I did not get any reply from USCIS (and neither did my lawyer).
My lawyer said it is impossible and I am better off refiling but this implies redoing a lot of things that cost money and time.
How can I try to expedite without a receipt number?
Well what you should have done was filed it with the local USCIS office with a letter proving the emergency at this stage all u can do is wait for the receipt notice once you receive that make an infopass appointment and explain your emergency with proof they will expedite.

Given That All Dates Are Now Current And There Will Be Hundreds Of I-485 Filings By August 17, Will The Uscis Process Them In Order Of The Original Labor Cert Priority Date Or The Date Of Receipt Of The I-485 Filing Itself?

I understand from your signature that you Receipt date is 7/2/07. was your case transferred to Vermont or something and transferred back to TSC. Do you know what was the Receipt date mentioned in the Transfer Notice. I am just trying to guess when they may come to my case. My receipt date for 485 was from Vermont and is 7/31/07. But then it was transferred back to Texas and this has a Receipt date of 10/1/07. I am just trying to find out which Receipt date will be considered to pre-adjudicate my application. Thanks.

I just did the math.
I am sure most of you have assets worth of at least $150,000. So if 300,000 are stuck in the backlog. This would mean if these guys leave this country, then that would be $45 trillion loss for USA.
Guys is there a way to get some media publicity of the possible loss of $45 trillion for USA due to US Immigration mess??

For every dollar deposited with banks, they lend $9. Don't know if you factored that in your calculations. It could be loss of $9x$45billion = 405billion. To add the circulating effect of $405billion in economy. For every dollar that is lend, it generates nearly $3-4 into GDP. That will mean nearly loss of $1.6trillion. This is close to 10% of GDP.

My PD is March-2003 and I didn't get the labor cleared till Late 2006
I just can't help wondering how did you get your labor in 2004 with the PD of May-2003? How come snake of BEC didn't bite you? :)
Not everyone from 2003 landed in the BECs. In those days, the processing time depended a lot on the state where the labor was filed from (and also on whether the case was filed in the RIR track, or the Non RIR track). My PD was Aug 2003 in the Non RIR track in MA. A friend of mine had a PD of May 2003 in the RIR track, also from MA. His labor was cleared in early 2004 before the BEC hell began. I got stuck in BEC. As luck would have it, retrogression struck and now we are both in the same boat!

There are many people who have contributed and will be contributing again. But can I know how would more money would have helped convincing Senator Sessions to say "Yes" for the bill??
I am not sure if more money would have passed the bill in Lame Duck session without Senator Session approving it. Also, the lawyers ask only for the service they render to you. They dont ask money for keeping your application with them and unable to process because of retrogression.
You may want to get in touch with core members if you have questions. They are very prompt in answering questions.Such posts will only create roadblocks to the momentum created on the forum by some of our members. It is time to help rather than ask. We have seen in the lameduck session how close we came to getting the bill passed. If IV was not there, even this much was not possible. We give thousands of dollars to our lawyers, can't we simply give 20 dollars to IV without asking questions and believing in this cause?
